Custom Error Pages
Take a plunge into website error pages. Discover when they appear and why you should create your own custom error pages.
If you have checked out a lot of sites, you have probably encountered some error message once in a while. An error may occur if the web hosting server cannot process a request (Error 400), if you must log in in order to see some content and you haven't done so (Error 401), if you aren't able to access a webpage (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file that isn't on the website hosting server (Error 404). Encountering such messages can often be annoying since the pages don't have anything in common with the actual website. That’s why some web hosting service providers allow you to apply your own error pages that'll match the style of your own Internet site and that could have any content that you want - info why the error has taken place, a suggestion how to handle it or even some humorous remark. Such a function will help you keep the visitor on the site irrespective of the error or the reason for it.

Custom Error Pages in Web Hosting
You can set up personalized error pages for all of your websites without difficulty when you use any of our
web hosting service. This can easily be done via the Hosted Domains part of the Hepsia CP, which comes with all accounts and when you go there, you could set your custom made pages independently for any domain or subdomain. You have to upload the files to your account in advance and enter the links to them through the process. This function can be de-activated at any time and the options you will be able to pick from are a generic page from our system or a default Apache server page. Custom error pages could be set with an .htaccess file as well. The file should be put in the domain or subdomain folder and it should include some system code and links to the pages. If you are not tech-savvy, you could copy the entire content you'll need for the file from our Help section.

Custom Error Pages in Semi-dedicated Servers
All
Linux semi-dedicated servers which we provide support custom made error pages and it will not take more than a couple of mouse clicks inside your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to use this function. The option is included in the Hosted Domains section of your CP where you'll have to type in the links to the custom-made files through basic drop-down menus and an easy to use interface. Keep in mind, you should upload them to your account before that. If you don't want to employ this feature at some point, you will be able to disable it just as quickly and choose an Apache server page or a default page from our system to be viewable if your visitors encounter an error. If you'd like to, you can also use an .htaccess file to enable the custom made error pages. The file needs to include a particular line of code plus a link for every single error type and you can easily discover an example of the whole content for all four error types in our Help section.
